EMS Week 2023
May 21 – 27 is EMS Week, a time to honor and celebrate the brave work of those on the front lines of medical emergencies.
EMS workers, including paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs), are crucial for the health and safety of Deaf Smith County.
The work of our skilled and dedicated EMS workers is vital to Hereford Regional Medical Center’s ability to provide lifesaving care when it matters most. No matter the accident or nature of the emergency, Hereford Regional Medical Center’s EMS workers are always ready and able to provide timely aid.
“Our EMS team is a crucial part of our mission to provide timely, lifesaving care,” said Jeff Barnhart, FACHE, president/CEO of Deaf Smith County Hospital District. “They are always quick to act when any member of our community needs emergency care, delivering excellent care when every minute matters.”
Hereford Regional Medical Center’s EMS team is a vital part of the community paramedicine program, providing care for patients after a hospital visit and ensuring everyone in our community has access to the resources they need to recover successfully.
Whether they are administering first aid to an accident victim or rushing a patient to the emergency room, EMS workers regularly provide excellent care in the face of uncertain and dire situations.
EMS Week began in 1974 and is an important reminder of the vigilant EMS workers standing by to help keep our communities safe.
