5 Questions to Ask During Your
Heart Health Check-Up

Understanding your risk for heart disease based on family history gives your provider more information to inform treatment options and lifestyle recommendations. Asking this question helps your provider educate and inform you about the different risk factors and warning signs you can watch out for when it comes to your heart health.

Cholesterol levels are a significant indicator of your heart health and potential risks that you should be aware of. Interpreting and monitoring your cholesterol levels is a crucial part of any heart-healthy lifestyle.

Making specific lifestyle changes to your diet and activity levels can drastically reduce the threat of cardiovascular conditions and improve your overall health and well-being. Your provider can connect you with in-depth information about the effects of diet and exercise on your heart health and guide you towards specific lifestyle recommendations that work for you.

Regular screenings for heart disease are essential for early detection and management of certain conditions. Your recommended screenings can depend on a number of factors including your age, weight, family medical history, and personal medical history. Your provider will recommend tests and screenings that are right for you.

Knowing the warning signs of heart conditions helps you and your family spot potential issues early. This can be the difference between catching a serious health issue in time to treat it and living with an increased risk of heart attack, stroke, or even death.
