Honoring Courage on COVID-19 Heroes and Memorial Day
March 4, 2025, marks the second annual COVID-19 Heroes and Memorial Day, a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance. This special day honors first responders and health care professionals who stood strong for their communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also commemorates the lives of more than 95,000 Texans lost to the virus.
It was on March 4, 2020, that the first COVID-19 case was diagnosed in Texas, marking the beginning of an unprecedented chapter in our history. COVID-19 Heroes and Memorial Day was established by the Texas Legislature to ensure that the courage, sacrifice, and loss experienced during the pandemic will never be forgotten.
At Hereford Regional Medical Center, we invite our community to join us in honoring the health care heroes of Hereford, whose unwavering dedication and resilience brought hope and healing during the darkest of days. This day is also an opportunity to remember lives lost to COVID-19. In observance of COVID-19 Heroes and Memorial Day, we ensure that the lessons and bravery of the pandemic era will remain a guiding light for the future.
