DSCHD Chief Medical Officer Invited to Speak on Role of Data in Addressing Health Care Disparities
Trevor Rohm, M.D., MS, Deaf Smith County Hospital District’s chief medical officer, last month was invited to deliver a guest lecture at Iona University in New York. The lecture, “Health Disparities and Informatics: Lessons in Value-Based Care,” drew on lessons learned from Rohm’s own career and strategies employed at DSCHD. Rohm discussed the complexities of the modern health system and the role data plays in addressing quality and care disparities.
Discussing innovative solutions like the hospital’s community paramedicine program with other health care leaders is part of how the team at DSCHD continually advances its knowledge and reputation in order to deliver the best care in our community.
The presentation was part of the university’s “week of the peacemaker” event, a yearly initiative centered around Veteran’s Day that champions causes for peace. The theme for this year’s event was: “What About Health? Who is Healthy, Who is Not, and Why? Understanding and defining health & exploring our health disparities.”
Dr. Rohm is a board-certified family medicine physician and is also board-certified in clinical informatics. He is a former software engineer and data analytics specialist.
