Join Deaf Smith County Hospital District clinicians for a Mental Health Symposium and Resource Fair April 26, 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Hereford Civic Center.

The event is designed for medical and behavioral health professionals, first responders, teachers, and family and friends of loved ones living with mental illness or substance use disorder. It includes both presentations and a resource fair. There is no cost to attend the event.

“Supporting mental health care in our region is a major priority for our hospital,” said Candice Smith, RN, MSN, CCRN, Deaf Smith County Hospital District CEO. “Lending our expertise to events like this and connecting our community with vital mental health resources are essential components of caring for our community.”

DSCHD Director of social services Esmeralda Florez, LMSW, and licensed therapist Maude McCullough EdD, MSN, LPC, CRC will serve as panelists and presenters during the event. DSCHD chief medical officer Trevor Rohm, M.D. serves as the leader of the Hereford Mental Health Coalition and will attend the event.

• McCullough will serve as speaker for the session on crisis de-escalation tactics
• Florez will moderate a panel on lived experiences to provide community awareness and education on substance use and addiction, mental health, and losing a loved one to suicide
