1. What is inpatient dialysis?

Inpatient dialysis is dialysis treatment that takes place while a patient is admitted to the hospital for another medical condition. This allows patients who are on dialysis to receive the care they need without having to transfer to another facility.

2. Who can receive inpatient dialysis at HRMC?

This service is available to current dialysis patients who are admitted to HRMC for a medical reason such as illness, injury, surgery, or another health concern.
We do not provide outpatient dialysis at the hospital.

3. If I already go to a dialysis clinic, will I still keep my dialysis schedule?

Yes. Our team coordinates closely with your current dialysis clinic to follow your established treatment plan and schedule. You will resume normal outpatient treatment after discharge.

4. How does the nephrology (kidney care) part of this service work?

HRMC partners with board-certified nephrologists via telemedicine. This means patients receive real-time kidney care consultations, treatment planning, and monitoring from a kidney specialist while receiving in-person care from our hospital nursing team.

5. Will my nephrologist know what is happening during my hospital stay?

Yes. Our nursing team works directly with your nephrologist to share updates, coordinate treatment plans, and ensure continuity of care.
