Nurse Practitioner Spotlight: Olga Prieto

Nurse practitioners like Olga Prieto, FNP, help the Hereford care team fulfill its mission of advancing care for Hereford.

Prieto began her nursing career in Texas more than 12 years ago and began working at Hereford Regional Medical Center in 2021 after completing her clinical rotations with the hospital. As a bilingual nurse practitioner, Prieto easily connects with patients for whom Spanish is the primary language.

“I’m so grateful to be working among such qualified and knowledgeable caregivers,” said Prieto. “I know I’m in the right place to deliver excellent local care with a team that values each and every patient.”

Prieto’s nursing experience includes time in the emergency room, medical surgery, and catheterization lab, where a variety of cardiac and vascular procedures are performed. She primarily works in geriatric care at the Hereford Health Clinic, helping to manage patients’ preventative care. She specializes in hypertension, diabetes, and hypothyroidism, and educating patients as they manage healthy lifestyle changes.

Hereford Regional Medical Cetner’s team-based approach to care means physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses are in regular communication about patient care to make sure our patients’ needs are met appropriately and in a timely manner.
