Hereford Regional Medical Center Celebrates Howard Johnson, M.D. for 55 Years of Service
Johnson has delivered more than 7,800 babies at HRMC
July 1, 2020 (Hereford, TX) – This month, Howard Johnson, M.D. begins his 56th year of service at Hereford Regional Medical Center. Johnson, a family medicine physician with obstetrics, has delivered 7,866 babies at HRMC.
“Dr. Johnson is an institution not just within Hereford Regional Medical Center, but within our community at large,” said Jeff Barnhart, CEO, Hereford Regional Medical Center. “His commitment to his patients is unparalleled, as is his commitment to this hospital and to Deaf Smith County.”
Dr. Johnson received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma in November 1962. After completing his residency, he began working at Deaf Smith Hospital and Hereford Medical and Surgical Center on July 1, 1965, delivering his first baby 20 days later.
“With fewer rural hospitals even offering labor and delivery services, Hereford Regional Medical Center is privileged to have Dr. Johnson’s continued service and his mentorship of new doctors,” said Barnhart. “His impact spans several generations, and his legacy is one of care, commitment, compassion, and service.”
