Nurse Practitioner Spotlight: Susan Cruz
Nurse practitioners like Susan Cruz, RN, MSN, FNP-C, help the Hereford care team fulfill its mission of advancing care for Hereford.
A Hereford native, Cruz began her nursing career at Hereford Regional Medical Center in 2002 before becoming a licensed nurse practitioner in 2017. Cruz is bilingual, working with both English- and Spanish-speaking patients.
“I have had an amazing 21 years serving patients at Hereford Regional Medical Center,” said Cruz. “I am proud to have the opportunity to provide care for patients in my hometown alongside such a skilled and passionate care team.”
Cruz specializes in mental health care and helps treat opioid use disorder through her medication-assisted treatment (MAT) certification. She is also certified by the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners to conduct Department of Transportation physicals.
Hereford Regional Medical Center’s team-based approach to care means physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses are in regular communication about patient care to make sure our patients’ needs are met appropriately and in a timely manner.
