Employee Spotlight: Alexis Castaneda, Financial Counselor
Healthcare costs and financial paperwork can feel overwhelming, especially when a patient or family is already facing a difficult health situation. For six years, Alexis Castaneda has helped patients at Hereford Regional Medical Center understand their options and move through the financial assistance process with greater clarity and confidence.
As a financial counselor, Alexis works directly with patients to answer questions, gather required information, and assist with charity applications. Her role requires accuracy, persistence, discretion, and compassion. By bringing those qualities to every interaction, she helps make a complex process more understandable and less stressful for the people HRMC serves.
Alexis has shown a strong commitment to learning and growth throughout her time at HRMC. She has continued to strengthen her ability to obtain the documentation needed to evaluate financial assistance applications and guide patients through each step of the process.
Her dedication also extends beyond her primary responsibilities. Alexis consistently takes initiative, supports her colleagues, and helps ensure important work is completed so patients receive timely, thoughtful service.
“Alexis has demonstrated a strong willingness to learn and grow in her role as a Financial Counselor,” said Chemise Newton, business office director. “She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure all assigned responsibilities are completed, even those outside her primary duties. I have personally observed tremendous improvement in her ability to obtain the information needed to assist patients with charity applications. Her dedication, initiative, and commitment to excellent patient support have made a positive impact on both the team and the patients we serve.”
For six years, Alexis has been a trusted advocate for HRMC patients during some of life’s most challenging moments. Her growth, initiative, and commitment to compassionate service continue to strengthen the Business Office team and the care experience for the Hereford community.
