Press Release – New Electronic Health Record System
Deaf Smith County Hospital District will be replacing their Electronic Health Record System with a more efficient one. Administration, senior management and staff have all been working tirelessly for the last several months to learn the new system. Go-Live date is set for Monday, July 24. In order to better serve patients and their families we are taking some initial steps that will affect our clientele. The Hereford Health Clinic will be closed on Friday, July 21st in preparation for the Go-Live event.
There will be no extended hours for the clinic the week of the 24th . Clinic hours will be from 8am to 5pm daily just for July 24-28. The number of patients seen in the next several weeks will be limited to ensure that the system is working properly and that all of our staff is efficient with the new EHR. We ask that everyone be patient for the Go-Live week and the month of August. Technical Support from the new company, Cerner, foresees normal business to occur by September 1st. Please be prepared to update all personal data, current medications and medical history if you use any of the hospital services. This change will benefit the community and enhance patient care and safety. Cerner is designed to improve physician and nurse workflow. Our goal with this transition is to streamline processes across the entire organization which in turn will save valuable time and allow us to focus on meaningful delivery of care. Thank you in advance for your patience!
